The partners of COWS do not already benefited from previous LIFE co-financing.

Nevertheless all of the partners, and especially the Coordinating Beneficiary SEARIS has a long and consolidated experience in management of complex technical and environmental project, partially also financed by regional authorities.

None of COWS project’s actions fall within the eligibility criteria for financing through other Community financial instruments.

Nonetheless, before submitting this project for requesting LIFE+ co-financing the proponent beneficiaries have examined the following instruments, and found the project not fitting the relevant scope for the reasons said below:

- FP7/ENV: the COWS project does not perform research actions; it relies on proven technologies and methods; the innovation site deals with the prototype stage of a solution experimented previously by the Beneficiary and conducted by the candidate Project Manager;

- CIP – Innovation and entrepreneurship transversal theme Eco-innovation: The Competitiveness Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) finances market oriented activities related to the take up of environmental technologies and ecoinnovative activities by enterprises as well as promotion of new or integrated approaches to eco-innovation. COWS beneficiaries are not technology vendors and the solution demonstrated by COWS is delivered for implementation as a mainstreaming of waste policies improvementsand not as a market action;

- Structural Funds - ERDF funding may be seen on an internal dimension (POR Toscana operational programme) and on the INTERREG IVC  dimesions. INTERREG IVC does not finance infrastructure or capital investments because is mainly devoted to exchange of best practices and development of policy enforcement. POR Toscana does not include this type of investment
