The whole communication actions will be based on an integrated strategy that hopefully will concur to amplify the results. This activity will be implemented on a base of an integrated Communication Strategy Plan subcontracted to a Communication agency having a proven track record in managing environmental communication campaigns . The COWS project aims at facilitating the dissemination and replication of COWS solutions. This action is also associated with the creation of a framework of visual identity, image and messages that belongs to the general strategy of communication of project activities. So the main objective of this action is mainly cross-cutting to design the COWS "image" . This action belongs to D - Communication and dissemination actions set of Actions.

The partnership will have a strong control of the whole action, delegating technical and specialistic issue to the Communication Agency and maintain a continuous relationship with all the partners through the Steering Committees.

As a general purpose this action aims also at disseminate the main results and to facilitate the implementation of the project. A first "eye- catching image" of COWS have been already designed. Cows are a living symbol of the co-digestion.

The activity will include the definition and production of the definitive COWS logo, templates and rules (overall look and feel) from which the different templates should be derived for slide presentations, press releases, etc. printed communication materials for general purposes (leaflets, posters, delegates packages for conferences) but also guidelines for publicity and formats.

The communication activities will be carry out with a clear selection of target groups.

The press releases (on A4 pages) will be a useful contribution to the communication activities and will be issued at the start of all actions or set of actions with a common format with heading, a strong leading paragraph summarising the essential facts, the main body of the story, quotes, some background information, and contact details for further information.

COWS Leaflets will provide basic factual information and the address (mailing address or web site) where further information can be found; all material produced in paper form should also be made available in electronic form, so that it can be sent by e-mail and uploaded on the Website.

Promotional items (part of the delegate packages, such as pens, pen drive etc) will be prepared for COWS Conferences (see Action D5). The detailed planned of the Communication campaign will be prepared during the very first months of the implementation.

The monitoring of the impact of the Communication Plan will allow to monitor results at pre-agreed stages and adjust elements of the plan & the means of measurement if necessary. Results will be measured against objectives.

In all documents and media produced in the framework of the project, the coordinating beneficiary and associated beneficiaries will acknowledge the support given by the Community using the LIFE logo provided by the Commission. For audio-visual material, the credits at the beginning and/or at the end will include an explicit and readable mention of the LIFE support.

During the project life at least 3 technology oriented papers will be prepared and published in specialised press.

Partners will also prepare 2 poster boards for scientific poster sessions.

The main indicator is (1) Fulfilment.

Fulfilment specific indicators are: Number of communication materials produced, by type, during a given period The measuring will be carried out by SEARIS : for fulfilment at activity end The threshold is ON/OFF (printed materials available).
